Top Menendez Media Picks
I’ve done lots of interviews over the years.
They were all good interviews, but most of the videos got edited down from hours worth of footage to a few seconds here and there. So frustrating!
Many 1990’s items are not available on the internet.
Here are some of the most recent, available interviews.
This page is mostly for my own benefit.

Podcasts
As it turns out, podcasts are the antidote for me to all those years of being interviewed extensively for TV, only to be edited down to a few soundbites!

Television
- AND THEN, 30 years later, THINGS GOT EXCITING AND HOPEFUL as a result of: 1) the May 2023 Menendez + Menudo documentary and the habeas filing asking to reopen the case; 2) the 2024 Netflix “Monsters” drama and the Netflix “The Menendez Brothers” documentary; and 3) DA Gascon’s press conference and the Menendez family press conference. TOO MANY ITEMS to list! (I’ll update soon.)
- Menéndez Brothers: Justice served or rigged? — (5:54 min. Sept. 19, 2024) KTLA 5 Los Angeles
- Menendez Brothers: Victims or Villains — (FOX Nation, March 2024) Four 30-min episodes all about how the media shaped the public narrative of the case in the 90s and how unfair the second trial was.
- The Menendez Mistrial 27 Years Later — CourtTV LIVE with Vinnie Politan (14:00 min. January 28, 2021)
- Unthinkable: The Menendez Murders (Dateline) — I’m just adding this in 2024, but it originally aired on TV in 2017. 12 short parts. Keith Morrison was lovely, but I hated the episode for its prosecution bias, despite what participants (including me) were led to believe it would be like.
- The Crimes that Changed Us: Episode 4 (ID Investigation Discovery series, 2020) — Redeeming moments for me, personally, are that I got to say some things that went beyond the jury room deliberations, things which previous producers usually edited out.
- Investigation Discovery (ID) — Episode 4 of “The Crimes That Changed Us”, 2020.
- Click here for all things Law & Order! ← I’m not in the 8-part series, but “Juror Hazel” is! (most notably in episode 7)
- A&E’s Menendez Murders: Erik Tells All — 5 episodes, December 2017
- Weekly commentaries during LOTC at KOB4 in Albuquerque (articles, videos)
- Jurors Say Menendez Brothers Served Long Enough (3:23 min. NBC4 Los Angeles, 2017)
- Nightline (5:38 clip), January 2017, based on same footage as ABC’s 20/20 special report Truth and Lies: The Menendez Brothers
- Truth and Lies (ABC, January 2017) — This is the documentary that brought the case back into the public eye after 20 years. Redeeming moments include journalist Terry Moran’s explanation of why he thinks the brothers were telling the truth, and prosecutor Pam Bozanich admitting, “One kid killing his parents is a bad seed; two kids killing their parents is a bad family.”
- Hazel on Oprah 2003 #2 of 2 (3:54 min.) In which I get to say what I wanted to say. (aka the “Hazel leaves Oprah speechless” video)
- Hazel on Oprah 2003 #1 of 2 (3:04 min.) Let’s just say that neither Oprah nor Court TV’s Catherine Crier were impressed with me!
- Hazel on American Justice 1996 (1:24 min)
- Court TV’s Trial Story: The Menendez Brothers On Trial, The Real Story (2 hrs. total, Part 1 and Part 2), 1994 , with host Terry Moran
