New Year & Goal Setting Resource Roundup

dreamstime_xs_26855200You’d think that New Year’s Day was a high holy day for organizing, considering how many tips and motivational quotes fly through cyberspace to launch each shiny new year!

And it’s no wonder, with Get Organized appearing near the top of many people’s list of goals. Indeed, January is GO (Get Organized) Month, an event created by NAPO in 2003.

I tend not to use the R word a lot. But — love ’em or hate ’em — Resolutions are really just goals. It doesn’t matter what you call them, or when you make them. What matters is that you occasionally give some thought to the direction of your life! How will you know when you arrive if you don’t know where you are headed?

The Getting Organized For Life Blog has a great search feature (and a spot to subscribe via e-mail so you don’t miss anything), but I thought I’d make things a little easier for you by gathering all my best tips for the New Year into one handy place!

I don’t expect all the resources in this roundup to apply to you. Not all at once, anyway. Pick one that catches your eye, and come back for another when you are ready. Call me if you need help deciding where to start!

The blog posts and chart/article combos cover the following topics:

  • Motivation
  • Clearing Mental Clutter
  • Resolutions, Goals, Focus Words, and Habits
  • Clutter Flow Charts for the New Year
  • Free Tips Booklets

Creating a habit is like walking through deep snow. At first it is really hard. But each time you walk that path, it gets easier. Eventually, it is easier to walk that path than to break a new one. — Zen proverb
